Gov’t Withdraws Complaints against Media

A0146832.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ordered the implementation of a formerly issued directive on the withdrawal of complaints against the media and press.

In a directive on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the President ordered all executive bodies to withdraw their complaints against the media and the press, the head of the Presidential Office Abdolreza Sheikholeslami said.

According to a press tv report, the President called on the bodies to implement the previously issued directive and declare null and void the complaints filed up to August 7, 2008, the Journalist Day.

On the national occasion of the Journalist Day, President Ahmadinejad had ordered the withdrawal of the complaints against the media and the press.

Journalist Day marks the death anniversary of Iranian journalist Mahmoud Saremi, who was killed along with six Iranian diplomats, when the Iranian consulate in Mazar Sharif, Afghanistan came under Taliban fire in 1998.
