“Countries who do not build up their system on the arrogant powers maintain their sovereignty and independent and set examples for other countries in the future,” Ahmadinejad said Sunday during a meeting with Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro in Tehran.

Ahmadinejad said that anti-imperialism waves around the world are rapidly growing and the new situation should be guided towards the benefit of all nations.

The president said that the existing world order proved to be unsuccessful.

“Considering the global economic crisis, it is necessary to set up fresh structures and base the economic policies accordingly,” Ahmadinejad said, adding that under such circumstances many countries would join to follow the new trend.

“Political, economic and moral crises rocked the United States like a destructive tremor,” Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro said.

The upcoming US presidential elections is likely to escalate tensions inside the country, Maduro said.

The Venezuelan official further called for expansion of bilateral partnership.

Tehran and Caracas have signed multi-billion-dollar agreements in the energy, methanol and industrial fields.
