President stresses need to promote Quranic culture

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad here Monday evening underlined the need to work harder to promote Quranic culture in Iranian society.

His remarks were made at a ceremony honoring participants from various nationalities participating in the 14th International Quran Exhibition.

He praised the International Quran Exhibition, an event held here annually during the fasting month of Ramadan, as a valuable step toward promoting the Quranic culture.

Stressing the importance of Quranic teachings in the affairs of Islamic societies, he said Quranic activities in Iranian society are unique.

President Ahmadinejad, in the ceremony, awarded plaques of honor to a number of people involved in Quranic activities.
