SERBIA
The Supreme Court is to consider the appeals of Milorad Ulemek and Zvezdan Jovanović, found guilty of the murder of late Prime Minister Zoran Đinđić.
The Supreme Court’s public session, where it is due to consider the appeal, is scheduled for September 8 in the special courtroom at the District Prison in Belgrade.
Under Serbian criminal law, those convicted to the maximum prison sentence of 40 years are entitled to a third instance hearing.
The Supreme Court will deliver its ruling at the closed part of the session. If it upholds the Appeal Court’s guilty verdict, all further avenues for appeal will have been exhausted and the verdict will be considered final.
