“The Council of Ministers passed a decree for cutting the expenses at the institutions and increasing the revenues collectability. It is expected for the measures to secure balanced budget by the end of 2009. The measures envisaging restriction of the expenses met the positive evaluation of the participants at the ECOFIN sitting, held in Brussels two days ago”, Bulgarian Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov said, replying to a question of MP Plamen Oresharski from the Coalition for Bulgaria..
Up to the present date, the government does not plan to take new loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the minister remarked in his statement at parliament.
A regular IMF mission is expected in Bulgaria on September 10. The issues to be tabled for discussion include revision of the public finances and analysis on the overall on comic situation in the country.
