Zimbabwe president in Tehran

Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, heading a senior politico-economic delegation, arrived here Sunday night for an official visit to review issues of mutual interest with senior Iranian officials.

Minister of Cooperatives Mohammad Abbasi welcomed President Mugabe at Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport.

The Zimbabwean president will be officially welcomed by his Iranian counterpart, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, at the Presidential Office this afternoon.

During his stay in Tehran, President Mugabe is to hold talks with President Ahmadinejad and other senior officials of the country including Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki.

The two sides will ink several letters of understanding before the Zimbabwean president ends his visit.

Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, Minister of Energy and Power Development Michael Nyambuya and Minister of Agriculture Joseph Made are in the delegation
accompanying President Mugabe.
