Bulgaria Parliament Vows Support for Serbia’s EU Aspirations

Bulgaria’s Parliament will offer unconditional support to neighboring Serbia in becoming a Member State of the European Union.

The declaration was made by the Speaker of the Bulgarian Parliament, Tsetska Tsacheva, during a meeting with Slavica Dukic Dejanovic, the current President of the National Assembly of Serbia (Skupshtina).

According to Tsacheva, the two neighbors being together in the EU would be beneficial for the institutions and the citizens.

Topics discussed during the meeting included development of infrastructure projects and preserving the environment. The lack of good infrastructure was pointed out as a main problem, impeding fast and reliable access between the two countries.

Dejanovic told her Bulgarian counterpart that 300 law projects have been tabled already in the Skupshtina, all related to Serbia’s European integration, adding that any help from the Bulgarian Parliament would be welcomed and appreciated.
