TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- All the plans devised by the United States against Iran have now proved to be a failure, Iranian Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr said here on Friday.
Addressing worshippers in his speech before the Friday Prayers Sermon here in Tehran today, Zolqadr elaborated on the goals pursued by the United States’ invasion of the Muslim world and Washington’s plans against Iran.
He further pointed to the recent remarks by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei about the failed policies of the United States, Britain and their allies, and said, “Finding control over the strategic Middle-East region constitutes the major goal sought by the United States’ extensive attack on the world of Islam, which started at the beginning of the third millennium.”
The official said that the United States has made every effort to isolate Iran and impair its relations with the neighboring states, and added, “But despite all these moves, Iran still maintains excellent ties with its neighbors.”
“As a major international actor, Iran’s power is on the increase and the US is angry at this progress,” he mentioned, adding, “The anti-Iran resolution by the UN Security Council against our nuclear activities is also another effort made by the US to block Iran’s progress.”
The deputy minister further stressed the point that all the moves made by the western countries against Iran are doomed to failure as the Iranian government enjoys strong public support.
He underlined that the Islamic Republic and Iranian people will not withdraw from their stances, and reminded that his country enjoys a strong and efficient government and powerful armed forces.”
Addressing the western states, the deputy interior minister for security affairs also warned that the language of force has no impact on the Iranian government, “as our country is led by a firm, brave, and popular leader who is well aware of the enemies’ plots.”
He further lashed out at the recent remarks made by the US president, saying, “The recent statements made by the US President George Bush on Iraq testify to the failure of the US in Iraq.”
