EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom congratulated BiH for visa liberalisation

EU Home Affairs Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom on Friday, November 12th, congratulated Bosnian officials for their efforts that led to visa liberalisation. After talks with Malmstrom in Sarajevo, BiH Prime Minister Nikola Spiric said that the EU’s decision to scrap visas for Bosnian citizens offers encouragement to continue with reforms related to Union integration. Malmstrom said that visa-free travel is a great opportunity for Bosnians, but he noted the bloc could reconsider its decision in case of systematic abuses. The EU interior ministers decided on November 8th to lift visa requirements for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, as of December 15th.
