He further described the present conditions dominating the Middle-East region as very sensitive, complex and critical, and said, “After three years since the occupation of Iraq by the US troops, none of Washington’s goals has come true and Americans are now confused and have no idea whether they should continue occupation of Iraq or withdraw from that country.”
The General further described Sudan as the largest African country geographically, and viewed Americans and Zionists as the main enemies of the Sudanese people and government.
Saying that a strong, cohesive and integrated army guarantees independence of Sudan, he described protection of national security and defending the country against foreign threats as the two main duties of any army, and reminded that the said two assignments can be performed only through a strong link between the army and people and through the formation of a popular army.
Safavi also noted the common goals pursued by the two countries, and said that the Islamic Republic of Iran can serve as a good and proper model for the Sudanese nation and government.
He further voiced Iran’s preparedness to promote cooperation in various areas within the framework of general agreements between the two governments and transfer of its experiences to Sudan.
Elsewhere, the IRGC commander called on Arab states to take a lesson from the fate of the former Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, and reminded that Saddam was neither a Shiite nor a Sunnite, adding, “Rather, he was a blasphemous person because his dossier is filled with the massacre of both Shiite and Sunnite Muslims.”
Describing Iran as a powerful country, he said that the Islamic Republic is not worried about the US and the Zionist regime’s threats for it is fully capable of encountering all types of aggressions by the aliens.
