The Republic of Moldova’s Acting President and Parliament Speaker Marian Lupu, who is on a visit to Brussels this week, was received by President of the European Parliament Jerzy Buzek on Tuesday.
The interlocutors discussed situation in Moldova, progress of the negotiations on the EU-Moldova Association Agreement and of the judiciary reform in the country, its investment climate, border management issues etc.
Jerzy Buzek reminded that Moldova is supposed to ensure human rights observance, freedom of the press and expression.
He reaffirmed the European Union’s readiness to help Moldova in its quest for Transnistrian conflict solution.
