Serbian President condemns violence in Kosovo

Serbian President Boris Tadić condemned violence in Kosovo and warned that attacks against KFOR and EULEX were against interests of residents of Kosovo and the state of Serbia.

“I condemn the violence in the strongest terms,” said the Serbia president, who addressed the issue twice during Wednesday evening after a checkpoint in northern Kosovo was set on fire.

“Any attack of hooligans and criminals against KFOR and EULEX brings into question Resolution 1244, the international framework which protects peace in Kosovo and Metohija, the citizens interests and interests of the state of Serbia,” asserted Tadić.

He called on immediate end to violence and on the citizens to show restraint and peace.
