An EU-mediated dialogue process scheduled to take place between representatives of Serbia and Kosovo in Brussels has been postponed after the Serbian delegation demanded a change in the discussion agenda.
The seventh round of Belgrade-Pristina talks was due to take place today, covering the subjects of energy, telecommunications and Kosovo’s participation in regional forums on the scheduled agenda.
However, EU facilitator for the dialogue, Robert Cooper, issued a written statement saying that “the dialogue did not take place because the Serb delegation was not ready to proceed with discussions.”
Borislav Stefanovic, chief of the Serbian negotiating team, appeared to give an ultimatum, saying yesterday evening that Serbia would not be willing to discuss anything but the situation on the north Kosovo border.
