Bosnia, Albania citizens could travel to EU without visas by autumn

The European Commission adopted on 27 May proposals to allow Albanian and Bosnian citizens to travel to Schengen area without visas, if the two countries satisfy a number of requirements.

“I know how much visa-free travel means to the people of Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina. Granting visa-free travel is a cornerstone of the EU’s integration policy for the Western Balkans,” Cecilia Malmström, the EU’s commissioner for home affairs, said in Brussels.

This proposal to drop an obligation to apply for short-term visas could simplify travel to EU countries for citizens of Albania and Bosnia.
