PACE President will pay a visit to Georgia at the end of May

Georgia will fulfill at an accelerated pace all its commitments made before the Council of Europe, the Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a joint press conference with PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon in Strasbourg on Monday.

“We touched on the commitments undertaken by Georgia before the Council of Europe. I convinced the Chairman of PACE that the new government will necessarily fulfill them at an accelerated rate. We talked about the problems that we have with our big neighbour, Russia. We planned the possibilities of the settlement of these relations, as well as considered other issues related to our cooperation with the European Union,” Ivanishvili said.

He noted that in this regard the visit of the President of the Parlamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe to Georgia scheduled in late May is very important.
