Pakistanis headed to polls one day after political leader’s death

Pakistanis headed to polls in Karachi on Sunday, right after the killing of Zahra Shahid Hussain, a political leader who had accused rivals of vote stealing.

Hussain was the senior vice president of the Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

The party accused vote rigging in Karachi and elsewhere after nationwide elections on May 11.

Beacuse of allegations, a revote was held on Sunday for one National Assembly seat and two Provincial Assembly seats in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city.

Unofficial results pointed that Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Arif Alvi won the National Assembly seat.
