Bulgarians rally against government for 41st day

It was the 41st day of anti-government protests in Bulgaria on Wednesday, July 24. The protestors started gathering, as usual, in front of the government’s building in the capital Sofia at around 7:30 p.m. local time.

According to the police around 2,000 people were protesting in the beginning of the demonstration, while by 8 p.m. the number increased to around 4,000. The protest started calmly and no incidents and public order violations were registered. The police even published a photo of the demonstrators in front of the council of Ministers on their website.

The traditional rally started at around 8 p.m. and headed to the National Assembly. The demonstration stopped in front of the parliament, where people chanted “resignation”, waved Bulgarian flags, blew whistles and etc.
