Tunisian Foreign Ministry summons Egyptian ambassador

Tunisia’s Foreign Ministry summoned on Friday evening the Egyptian ambassador in Tunis.

The Foreign Ministry expressed its concern in light of the situation in Egypt and the use of violence there.

In Egypt, clashes across the country after Wednesday’s dispersal by the military of sit-ins staged by supporters of ousted President Mohamed Morsi have left at least 578 people killed and over 4,200 injured.

The Tunisian side also called for dialogue between all parties in view of preventing Egypt from “slipping into violence, division and chaos,” according to the report.
