Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is to hold a critical and urgent meeting to evaluate the most recent situation in Syria and the possible international military operation in the country.

The meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. It will be also attended by Deputy Prime Ministers Bulent Arinc and Besir Atalay, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu, Minister of National Defence Ismet Yilmaz, Minister of Interior Affairs Muammer Guler; Head of the National Intelligence Organisation (MIT) Hakan Fidan and representatives of the high military leadership of the country.

At the meeting the officials will discuss the possible steps the Turkish government will make to call the international community to take concrete actions in terms of Syria; possible request to the Majlis for Turkey’s participation in possible international military operation in Syria; as well as the security measures at the Turkish-Syrian border.
