FM Meets 14 Heads of State

Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met with the leaders and senior officials of 14 Islamic and Arab states on the sidelines of the 19th Arab Summit in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday and Thursday. According to a statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau, Mottaki discussed regional developments, bilateral ties and issues of the world of Islam in his meetings with the Saudi King, Syrian, Pakistani and Iraqi presidents, Syrian, Yemeni, Omani, Kuwaiti, Iraqi, Indian and Norwegian foreign ministers, Spain’s deputy foreign minister and chairman of the Arab Parliament.

Also during his meetings, the Iranian top diplomat underlined that withdrawal of occupiers is the only way to restore stability and security in Iraq.

Mottaki further stressed the need for the expansion of ties and reinvigoration of relations and regional cooperation among Islamic governments, reminding that the measure would pave the ground for defusing the plots hatched by the enemies against the Islamic Ummah (nation).
