Serbian PM meets Russian defense minister

Serbian Prime Minister Ivica Dačić will on Tuesday in Belgrade meet with Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu.

On Wednesday, Shoigu and his Serbian counterpart Nebojša Rodić will sign an agreement on cooperation between the two countries in the area of defense, it has been announced.

Dačić is meeting with the top Russian official today after he on Monday received Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller.

After that meeting, the prime minister announced that works to build the section of the South Stream pipeline that will run through Serbia would begin on November 24.

The issue of repayment of old debt toward the Russian side was also brought up in the meetings, and according to announcements, “a projection of their payment” will be drafted by the end of the year.
