Tunisian forces raid militants camp in Kef

imgSpokesman for Tunisia’s National Defence Ministry, Colonel-Major Belhassen Oueslati announced that a camp of militants had been discovered on the heights of Kef.
Tunisia forces discovered the camp during combing operations on the heights of Kef, Ouergha and Touiref, he pointed out.
Kef, in northwestern Tunisia, was the provisional capital of Tunisia during World War II and now a major site of religious and cultural markers.
Oueslati added that clashes took place with the militants group, specifying that a serviceman had been wounded in the ankle in the area of Jantoura (Mount Ouergha) and had been evacuated by helicopter.
Clashes are still underway, according to TAP correspondent in Kef. Daesh has a strong presence in Libya and is trying to expand its scope into Tunisia. Tunisian forces have been fighting a Daesh spillover from Libya since March 2016, when Daesh militants launched an attack on the Tunisian town of Ben Guerdane
