Messahel, Egyptian FM hold discussions in Cairo

Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel has held talks with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry.
“We have discussed Arab issues as well as challenges facing the Arab nation and means to strengthen cooperation to support Arab League mechanisms,” said Shoukry following his discussions with Messahel on the sidelines of the works of the 147th session of Arab Foreign Ministers Council, chaired by Algeria.
The two officials also broached the action of the two countries within the African Union, the Libyan crisis, the scourge of terrorism as well as the relations between Algeria and Egypt and the contributions of the two countries to addressing all those issues.
The Egyptian foreign minister underlined the constant contact between Algeria and Egypt in the service of the Arab common interest.
Shoukry also expressed hope that, during its term as chair of the Arab League Foreign Ministers Council, Algeria would contribute to strengthening Arab cooperation and solidarity in this important context and ahead of the next Arab Summit.
