An international journalist rights group is calling on Iran to re-open a trial into the murder of Iranian-Canadian photojournalist Zahra Kazemi.
Reporters Without Borders made the request today to coincide with the fourth anniversary of Ms. Kazemi’s death.
Ms. Kazemi, 54, died of a fractured skull and brain hemorrhage after being apprehended by the Iranian secret police.
She had been arrested after taking pictures of a protest outside an Iranian prison.
Emily Jacquard, who works for Reporters Without Borders, says a letter has been sent to Foreign Affairs Minister Peter McKay calling on the Canadian government to continue to pressure the Iranian government.
