Pakistani Consul Summoned by Iran

A024709820.jpgGovernor General of Iran’s southeastern province of Sistan and Balouchestan summoned Pakistani consul to warn him about the delayed repatriation of the 12 hostages released by that country’s police after being kidnapped by armed bandits on SundayDuring the meeting, Sistan and Balouchestan’s deputy governor general for security and political affairs called on Mohammad Tareq to take more effective measures to hand over the released hostages and the bandits to the Iranian officials.

“According to an agreement signed by Iran and Pakistan on the extradition of criminals, Islamabad is required to surrender the arrested bandits to our country,” a security official in Sistan and Balouchestan told FNA.

“But the Pakistani side is not showing proper cooperation in this regard on different excuses, saying that they are currently investigating the bandits and the released hostages,” he continued.

“They insist to hand them over via Iranian consulate in Kuwaiteh, Pakistan, but such a trend would result in a waste of time,” the official said, adding that the best and easiest way to do so is surrendering the said individuals through the two countries’ shared borders.

He expressed the hope that the bandits and released hostages would be repatriated to Iran by this afternoon.
