MP Warns Arab States to Be Watchful of Revolution

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly here on Wednesday, rapporteur of the parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Kazem Jalali called on the regional states to voice collective protest against the US force build-up in the region.

He said the United States’ Greater Middle-East initiative is seeking to change governments in the region, and added, “The United States’ failure in Iraq has delayed implementation of the Greater Middle-East plan. Yet, the Arab countries of the region should monitor current developments more precisely, because they still face the danger that efforts to implement the Greater Middle-East Plan which seeks to incite colorful revolutions, are resumed.”

Elsewhere, the legislator noted the third round of talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and said the two sides have reached a formula to resolve the remaining issues.

He further warned West against adoption of a new set of sanctions, saying that passing of a new resolution by the UN Security Council would take the two sides of Iran’s nuclear standoff off the negotiating table.

“Whenever Americans witness that Iran and the Agency are about to reach an agreement, they go after the ratification of a (UNSC) resolution against Iran through hasty measures,” Jalali added.
