During the meeting, the Indonesian official voiced his country’s eagerness to expand economic and trade ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

He further pointed to his country’s need to chemical products, and stated Indonesia’s full preparedness to cooperation with Iran to supply his country’s needs.

He also called for acceleration of the two countries’ trade cooperation, and added, “Along with the two countries’ joint economic cooperation commission, we are willing to establish a trade cooperation committee in a bid to follow up to the two sides’ mutual trade cooperation in a better way.”

For his part, the Iranian Deputy Commerce Minister and head of Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization, Mehdi Ghazanfari hoped that the meeting could serve as a good start for the two countries’ economic activities.

He further voiced Tehran’s readiness to arrange an exhibition of Iranian goods and products in Indonesia.

Ghazanfari also named lack of liquidity as among the impediments to the expansion of trade cooperation between the two countries, and said Tehran has adopted the required measures to solve the problem in cooperation with its Exports Development Bank and Exports Guarantee Fund.

To end his remarks, he said rapid formation of the two countries’ joint trade council, agreed by the two sides earlier in the meeting, would accelerate implementation of the agreements already held by Iran and Indonesia.
