Iran, Azerbaijan to Promote Ties

Relations between Azerbaijan and Iran should be brought to higher level, chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Clerical Board said in a meeting with the chairman of the Iranian-Azerbaijani friendship group and former Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan. “I would like the political relations between the two countries to be on high level like in the religious sector,” Sheik-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade said.

The former Iranian envoy, Ahad Gazai, said it was the first visit of members of the Iranian -Azerbaijani friendship group to Azerbaijan, and added, “Azerbaijan and Iran are the friendly countries, while there have always been forces desiring to impede good neighborly relations between the two countries.”

The Group includes representatives from different spheres of society, who will put every effort for the expansion of relations between the two countries.

Members of the Iranian-Azerbaijani friendship group plan to hold several meetings at the state bodies of the country.
