US spies infiltrate Iran from the Azerbaijani territory

Secretary of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, claims that US secret services are acting against his country, using Azerbaijani and Turkmen territory. As Azerbaijani Echo edition said the allegations came at the threshold of the visit of Ilham Aliyev to Washington.  

 

The edition notes that several days ago Iranian sources said that in case of the US invasion Tehran will destroy Baku – Tbilisi – Ceyhan pipeline at the territory of Azerbaijan in a preemptive strike. 

 

Other “important for the US and Europeans facilities” were also marked as targets for iranian missiles. Larijani confirmed such a possibility. 

 

As Echo also marks, that Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is planning to visit Baku soon, following the recent visit of Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najar to Azerbaijan. 

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry denied allegations made by the Iranian official, as “totally ludicrous”.  

 

Officials from the Ministry of National Security (MNB) refused even to comment the words of Larijani.
 

To remind, AIA already reported in February of escalation of clandestine confrontation between thee US and Iranian secret services in Central Asia and Southern Caucasus.  

 

One of the issues was the concern of the Iranians over the possibility of using by the US of the Azerbaijani, Turkmen territory.
