The Secretary of the Baath Party in Daraa, Farid al-Amarin, assumed his position after the assassination of his predecessor, according to the Syria Times.
The Secretary of the Baath Party in Daraa, Farid al-Amarin, was killed on Tuesday west of the governorate, south Syria, after being targeted by unidentified gunmen.
Sources stated that “two gunmen on a motorcycle intercepted the car of the division’s secretary, Farid Muhammad al-Amarin, in front of the division’s headquarters in Nawa, and after the car stopped, they pulled him out and shot him directly. The gunmen then fled the crime scene using his car.”
Daraa Health Director, Dr Ashraf Barmo stated that the Nawa National Hospital received the body of Amarin who had already died as a result of several gunshot wounds to the heart, chest, and legs.
Amarin assumed his position after the assassination of his predecessor, Selwan al-Jundi, in February 2020, the source said.
