The Taliban dismissed the Pentagon’s claim that the Afghan militant group is not in compliance with the agreement it reached with the United States in Qatar last year, warning Washington that American troops will be killed if they refuse to leave the country as required by the deal.

A security source said on Friday that 16 security force members were killed and two more were wounded in a Taliban attack on their outpost in Khan Abad district in the northern province of Kunduz on Thursday night.

On Saturday, Emirates Leaks whistleblower website, citing informed sources, reported that Abu Dhabi was trying to foist Mohammed Dahlan on the upcoming Palestinian general elections. Dahlan is Fatah’s defected senior official and is the current advisor to the UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed.
