Serbia welcomes Mali peace agreement

Serbia on Monday welcomed the peace and reconciliation agreement in Mali, signed on 28 February in Algiers following the inter-Malian inclusive negotiations under the auspices of Algeria.
“The Republic of Serbia welcomes the peace and reconciliation agreement in Mali, signed on 28 February2015, after inter-Malian inclusive negotiations which lasted eight months under the auspices of Algeria. Besides, Algeria played a decisive role of mediation with the assistance of international actors,” the Republic of Serbia said in a communiqué.
Reiterating its respect for “the territorial sovereignty and integrity of Mali,” the Republic of Serbia expressed “hope that the agreement implementation process will be launched soon to ensure an inclusive and lasting settlement of the conflict,” the source added.
Serbia has also expressed the hope that “the agreement will contribute to the strengthening of trust between key stakeholders.”
