TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad stressed that the west’s opposition to the peaceful nuclear activities of the Islamic Republic on the pretext of diversion to military purposes is a big lie.
Addressing a large congregation of the people in the city of Mahabad in West Azerbaijan province on Thursday, Ahmadinejad described Iran as a vanguard of peace and tranquility in the world, saying that the world bullying powers are behind the aggressions, wars and bloodshed committed against innocent people worldwide.
Saying that the said powers believe discord among nations is the key secret to their global domination, Ahmadinejad pointed to the aggressive behavior, wars, corruption, discrimination and genocide practiced by global arrogant powers as the underlying cause of all human sufferings.
Reminding the nuke attack on Japan’s Hiroshima and Nagasaki during World War II, the President said, “If there is any threat posed to the world nations, it is certainly posed by the very same atheist powers.”
Reiterating that access to nuclear energy is all Iranians’ national demand, he said those states opposing Iran’s nuclear activities so assume that continuation of our activities is demanded just by a few people, “but they must know that they are wrong. This is what the entire Iranian nation wants.”
According to FNA dispatches, the President’s statements were followed by loud and lengthy slogans of the crowd who chanted ‘Nuclear energy is our inalienable right’ in confirmation of Ahmadinejad’s words.
