Haddad Adel Dismisses Nuclear Suspension

A01399794.jpgSpeaking to reporters on the sidelines of an open session of the Islamic Consultative Assembly here on Wednesday, Haddad Adel stressed the peaceful nature of his country’s nuclear activities, and reiterated, “What is heard about the referral of Iran’s case to the United Nations Security Council is in direct opposition to the results of the meetings held between Iran’s top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani and EU Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana, as the two have constantly stressed the positive and constructive trend of their talks as well as their decisiveness for continuing the negotiations.”

“We are seeking negotiation and I warn those who believe that they can settle Iran’s nuclear issue through threats and sanctions that they can’t make any benefits this way,” he continued.

Asked to comment on the concerns the Persian Gulf littoral states have expressed about the possibility of the leakage of nuclear wastes and environmental pollution of Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant, the Parliament Speaker viewed such statements as “rather politically motivated”, adding that it is now a long time some states have uttered such redundant words to show their opposition to Iran’s nuclear activities.

Meantime, Haddad Adel pointed out that as Iran is worried about the health of its citizens, it has taken all the necessary precautions in this regard, reminding that any nuclear leakage endangers Iranians’ lives before threatening foreign countries.
