TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met the outgoing Bahraini Ambassador to Tehran here on Tuesday.
A report released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau said that during the meeting, Mottaki appreciated the diplomat’s years of efforts in the post, and viewed the two countries’ relations as desirable and constructive.
He also stated that Iran-Bahrain ties have always been based on cordial and heartfelt bonds.
Saying that progress and development of Bahrain is of profound pleasure to Iran, the foreign minister stressed, “There exists nothing for the neighboring states to vie for in the Persian Gulf.
Kamel Salih Abdullah al-Salih, for his part, extended the warm regards of Bahraini officials to their senior counterparts in Iran, and renewed the Bahraini foreign minister’s invitation to Mottaki for attending the Manama summit.
Saying that the two countries’ relations have always been based on mutual respect and joint interests, the diplomat stressed that senior officials of his country have always sought to strengthen cooperation between regional states and Iran in a bid to help to the restoration of peace and security.
