Jordan condemns Beirut blasts

The Jordanian government on Tuesday strongly condemned terrorist blasts that rocked eastern Beirut this morning killing some people and injuring others.

“Jordan strongly renounces and condemns these terrorist bombings that targeted powerless civilians and any other attempt designed to undermine Lebanon’s safety and stability,” Government Spokesman Nasser Judeh told reporters following a cabinet session.

He reiterated Jordan’s stand which rejects all forms of terror regardless of its motives and stressed the necessity to mobilize international efforts to support the Lebanese brothers in the difficult circumstances they passing through.

During the session, the cabinet members listened to a briefing by Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit on the talks held earlier on the day between His Majesty King Abdullah and Russian President Vladimir Putin as well as the King’s talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
