Iran Ready for Joint Cultural Cooperation with Armenia

President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) Ezzatollah Zarqami, in a meeting with Armenian Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosian, voiced Tehran’s preparedness to launch joint cultural cooperation with Yerevan. During the meeting, Zarqami also stressed the two nations’ enthusiasm for expanding ties, reminding that Iranian Armenians have an effective and remarkable role in their country’s cultural productions.

For his part, Poghosian underlined his nation’s profound respect for the Iranian culture and called for increased efforts to produce joint cultural works.

Elsewhere, the visiting head of Iran’s state-run TV in a meeting with Armenian Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan viewed the two countries’ cultural and historical commonalities as a proper ground for boost of cooperation, and stressed the significant role of media in the consolidation of friendly ties among nations.

For his part, Movsisyan pointed to Tehran’s influential role in the political and security equations of the region, and underlined that his country attaches much significance to the expansion of all-out ties with Iran.
