50,000 Centrifuges to Start Operation in 2 Years

3,000 centrifuges have started operation in the last few days and the number of Iran’s operative centrifuges will increase to 50,000 in the next two years, an Iranian MP said on Thursday.The remarks were made during a meeting between the members of the Iranian parliament’s Education and Research Commission and a number of Iranian students studying at Malaysia’s Putra University.

Also during the meeting, Iranian lawmakers pointed to Iran’s progress in various scientific fields, including control of the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), progress in biotechnology and stem cells and treatment of diabetes, and added, ” Iran has launched operation of 3,000 centrifuges through reliance on its domestic scientific capabilities and potentials.”

They also mentioned that Iran will increase the number of its operating centrifuges to 50,000 within the next two years.

Further in the meeting, the Iranian students briefed the legislators about their problems and the MPs, for their part, promised to help resolve the students’ problems.
