Iran, Thailand Increase Air Cooperation

Director of Iran’s Aviation Organization Khanlari in a meeting with Thailand’s Transportation Minister Thira Haocharoen voiced Tehran’s inclination for using Bangkok’s experiences in airport services. During the meeting which was also attended by Iran’s ambassador to Thailand Mohsen Pak Ayeen, the Iranian official extended an invitation from Iranian transportation minister to Haocharoen to pay a visit to Iran, and further welcomed exchange of expert delegations for the identification of the two countries’ potentials in air, land and sea-related areas.

He also pointed to the daily Tehran-Bangkok flights by Iran’s Mahan Airline Company, saying that the measure has facilitated tourism and increased the two countries trade relations.

For his part the Thai minister of transportation accepted the invitation of his Iranian counterpart, and said that a Thai delegation would pay a visit to Iran in June 2007 to explore avenues of cooperation in air transportation.

He also praised the two countries’ air cooperation, and called for similar interactions in grounds of land and sea transportation.

Haocharoen further viewed Iran’s’ transit situation as very important, and said that the two countries can conduct a strategic cooperation in the sphere of transportation.
