Gambian Ambassador Meets FM

Gambia’s incoming ambassador to Tehran met with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki here on Monday. A statement released by the Foreign Ministry’s Information and Press Bureau said that during the meeting, Mottaki described Iran-Gambia ties as important, and stressed Tehran’s resolve to further expand relations with that country.

He also said that presidents of both states attach significance to the expansion and consolidation of mutual ties, and voiced Iran’s preparedness to cooperate with Gambia in areas of trade, agriculture, investment and implementation of different projects.

For his part, the Gambian envoy voiced pleasure in his mission in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and expressed the hope that long strides would be taken for the expansion of mutual relations as a result of supports and cooperation between the different political and economic sectors of the two countries.
