Iran Ranks 20th in Iron, Steel Production

A03143096.jpgIran produced 9.8 mln tons of iron and steel and ranked the 20th among the world countries last year, the International Iron and Steel Institute said in its latest report. According to the report, the world production of steel and iron totaled 1244 mln tons in 2006, showing more than 9% of increase compared to the figures of 2005.

The report also said that China, Japan, the Untied States, Russia, South Korea, Germany, India, Ukraine, Italy, Brazil, Turkey, Taiwan, France, Spain, Mexico, Canada, Britain, Belgium, Poland, Iran and South Africa were the biggest world producers of iron and steel in 2006, respectively.
