Former IRGC Commander Dismisses US Accusations against Iran

Former Commander-in-chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps dismissed US accusations about IRGC’s role in supporting terrorism, underlying that the United States and Zionists are the main and real contributors to present insecurities and terrorism worldwide. “Americans and Zionists are the underlying cause of insecurities and the root cause of state-sponsored terrorism in the world and the region,” Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi said here on Friday, taking expansionist policies pursued by Washington and Tel Aviv responsible for insecurities in the region.

He further pointed out that the Unite States’ unilateral policies and militarism as well as its massive invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and the Persian Gulf in the last five years have violated international norms and pushed the region into an insecure and unstable status with unpredictable changes and developments.

Safavi, who is now the senior military advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, underlined that Americans and Zionists are utilizing all their potentials and capabilities to massacre Muslims and demolish Islamic sites and centers in Muslim countries.
