Parliament Mulling Impeachment of Minister

TEHRAN (Fars News Agency)- A number of Iranian MPs are collecting support for impeaching Agricultural Jihad Minister Mohammad Reza Eskandari, an informed source said here on Saturday.

The source, who is a member of the central council of the Parliament’s majority fraction, told FNA that a number of influential lawmakers from the majority fraction in a meeting last week required Eskandari to provide explanations about the existing mismanagements in the Agricultural Jihad ministry.

“But since the minister’s answers were not convincing, his impeachment came on the agenda of the majority fraction,” he added.

The legislator further stressed the resolve of his colleagues to impeach Eskandari, adding that the impeachment bill will likely be presented to the parliament speaker this week.
