Belgium Praises Iran’s Regional Role

A03168546.jpgTEHRAN (FNA) – Belgian Foreign Minister Karel De Gucht said Iran plays a “quite constructive and significant” role in the Middle East region.Tehran is a key regional player which has helped to restore security in Afghanistan and Iraq, the minister told Iranian Ambassador to Brussels, Ali-Asghar Haji, a press tv report said.

De Gucht also called for diplomacy in settling disputes over Iran’s nuclear program.

Haji, for his part, asserted that Tehran and Brussels’ long historical background can further help improve bilateral cooperation.

He also urged enhancing relations between the two states to pave the ground for signing new economic agreements.
