Iran, Azerbaijan to Ink Agreement on Sports Cooperation

A03444648.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iran and Azerbaijan are due to sign an agreement to enhance mutual cooperation in area of sports.

The document is expected to be signed during an upcoming visit to Iran by the Azeri minister of youth and sports.

The document will reflect various aspects of cooperation, including exchange of students of Sport Academies of the two countries, head of Iran’s Youth and Sports Committee Mohammad Ishaqi said at the meeting with Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov.

The Iranian official also said that relations between the two countries are so close that one cannot define such an affinity in ties easily.

He further pointed to his country’s extensive sports facilities, and said that Iran is well prepared to train Azeri athletes and champions.
