Iran’s Non-Oil Exports Hit Record $20bln

A0314300.jpgTEHRAN (FNA)- Iran’s non-oil exports hit an annual record of $20 billion in Iranian calendar year 1386 (March 2007-March 2008), an official said.

The director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI) announced here on Thursday that the country is due to celebrate the progress on October 20, which is the National Day of Exports.

Non-oil exports exceeded the figure projected in the Fourth Socio-Economic Development Plan in each of the past three years, Mehdi Ghazanfari said at a press conference, a report by the state-run tv said.

Iran’s total exports for 2007, including oil but excluding service revenues, hit $83 billion, which is 0.6 percent of the world’s total export value, he added.
