Sarajevo Airport Closed Over Bomb Tip

photo_verybig_1025342The Sarajevo international airport was closed for some 50 minutes on Monday after an anonymous tip about a bomb planted at the airport. Luckily, the tip was a false alarm, the Dnevni avaz daily reported.

The information centre of the Sarajevo international airport received an anonymous tip at around 3:20pm about a bomb having been placed at the airport facilities. The border police and security officials evacuated the airport, after which every facility was checked and they determined the tip was bogus.

The airport began functioning normally at 4:15pm.

The police are searching for the anonymous tipster.
