Bulgarian Deputy Foreign Minister Radoi Popov said Thursday the foreign policy of his country’s new government gave priority to the efforts aiming to inaugurate an embassy in Saudi Arabia at an early date.
The final set-up of the government, led by Prime Minister-designate Boiko Borisov whose Gerb Party won the Sunday legislative elections by landslide, will be announced in the coming few days.
Speaking to KUNA here, Popov said, “It is evident that the coming government would strive to strengthen the relations with the Middle East countries especially the Arab countries and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries.” “On top of the priority order of the government will be the launching of diplomatic missions on the ambassadorial level in a number of friendly countries such as Saudi Arabia,” he underscored.
This will facilitate Bulgaria’s pursuit to stronger commercial and economic relations as well as enhanced investment and joint ventures in the energy sector with oil-rich countries, Popov added.
