Deputy Speaker of the Parliament, leader of a political “We ourselves” party, Paata Davitaia, calls for ethnic Abkhazians and Ossetians to come to themselves and begin a dialogue with Georgia. Davitaia spoke about it at a press conference dedicated to the anniversary of Abkhazia and South Ossetia’s independence recognized by Russia.
Davitaia said that Russia continues its ethnic cleansing in Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
“In fact, it does not deal with independence. Russian territories are necessary to place its bases,” he said.
Deputy Speaker said that the situation in the occupied territories is difficult. Free movement is complicated even for ethnic Abkhazians and Ossetians.
“I call on Abkhazians and Ossetians to come to themselves. Their future is connected with Georgia. Georgia is ready to speak to them on any topics,” Davitaia said.
“If they do not come to themselves on time, Abkhazia and South Ossetia will remain without ethnic Abkhazians and Ossetians,” Davitaia said.
