Bulgarian President to pay official visit to Cyprus

Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will pay an official visit to the Republic of Cyprus on October on October 9 and 10, 2009 on the invitation of the President Dimitris Christofias, Presidency press office informed. The Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov will be accompanied by his wife Zorka Parvanova.

Presidents’ agenda envisages talks as well as plenary talks between the two official delegations. The two presidents would sign a joint declaration on bilateral relations between Bulgaria and Cyprus. The program on co-operation in science, education and culture field between Bulgarian and Cyprus government as of 2009-2011 would be signed at their presence. The presidents Parvanov and Christofias would give a news conference after the signing.

Later on the heads of states would attend the opening of the Cyprus-Bulagrian business forum. Georgi Parvanov would meet speaker of Cyrus Parliament and Nicosia mayor.

Bulgarian President’s agenda during the second day of the visit envisages meeting with His Beatitude archbishop Hrisostomos II and bishop of Pafos His Grace Georgios as well as representatives of the Bulgarian community in Cyprus.
